 RukkaFinnish label Rukka creates and manufactures technical and functional garments made from high-quality materials for leisure activities and at Nordic Kids we stock their range of children's rainwear, famous throughout Scandinavia for their cool colours and reliability.
Rukka was started in 1950 by Roger Störling when he formed the company 'AB Sportsbeklädnad Urheiluvaatetus Oy'. Initially started in Kokkola on the west coast of Finland, the company began by operating out of the kitchen in an old farmhouse. Six years later though, the company had expanded enough to move into a new building in Kokkola's city centre where full scale production began.
In the sixties, the name was changed to Rukka and now the product range spans everything from motorcycling garments, golf garments, jogging suits and tracksuits, through to rainwear, downhill outfits, sailing outfits and various sport accessories.
Rukka prides itself on the investment they make in their products to ensure they are the highest quality possible and made from the most effective materials. The manufacture process itself is always under constant review whilst once complete the product undergoes countless testing sessions in cold and hot weather, rain and snow before being finally approved.
All of which makes for children's raingear that you know you can rely on but, just as important, it also looks fantastic! In a range of bright and cheery colours to banish the wet weather blues, Rukka rain coats truly are a Scandinavian design classic.
